Eligibility Requirements
Please note: in all of the following, "South Asia" means Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan & Sri Lanka.
- You must be a citizen of a South Asian country.
- You must be a registered undergraduate or graduate student at a university in South Asia.
- You must be working toward a degree in physics, applied physics, or any physics subfield such as biophysics or astronomy. If your university does not offer degrees in physics or any physics subfield, you are eligible if you are doing physics work while working toward a degree in a general science field such as "natural sciences".
- You must be registered in your university's department of physics, applied physics, or any physics subfield such as biophysics or astronomy. If your university does not have a separate physics department, you are eligible if you are doing physics work in a general science department such as a Department of Natural Sciences.
- The conference you wish to attend must be in South Asia, and must be in a different country than your university or citizenship. (Example: if you are a Sri Lankan citizen attending university in India, then the conference must be in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal or Pakistan.)
- The conference you wish to attend must be at least 3 days long. (Exceptions may be allowed for highly specialized workshops that are directly related to your particular work.)
- The conference you wish to attend must be relevant and appropriate to your work, organized by a respected scientific committee and aimed at technical professionals in your field of study.
